Pocahontas State Park

1.     Pocahontas is a Virginia State Park located in Chesterfield County. It offers outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, swimming, camping having picnics and family oriented programs. The website links have plenty of information about location, size, events, programs and an attraction tab that has educational events. The picnic shelter tab has info about accommodating a certain amount of people and if the pools are closer or further away from them. Maps, pictures, and tabs with information on attractions nearby are useful to the person interested in visiting the park. This website is located on the internet at http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state. The search engine that was used was Google.
2.     The purpose of this website is to attract tourism and families to experience Virginia’s beautiful natural environment.
3.     The intended audiences are families with children or people who enjoy nature. The park has a pool, Aquatic Center, camping site and Natural History programs for visitors.
4.     The Pocahontas Park website has “information” that is effective in attracting visitors. The site has plenty of information and tabs that make it easy to use if you want to know something specific. The presentation is not so effective. The whole webpage needs a transformation. The specific tabs need a different font style that is more appealing. The word “Pocahontas” needs more emphasis. The photo tab link has pictures of the events that go on within the park and gives you a “feel” for the environment which is a plus but should instead be presented when you first access the website, not in the middle.
